Why it's worth the trip
IHGF Delhi Fair is the single most efficient way to meet Indian export manufacturers across home, furniture and furnishings in one building. Organised twice a year by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) — the government-recognised apex body for Indian handicraft exporters — it has run since 1994 and is UFI-approved. The organiser puts the show at over 3,000 exhibiting manufacturers and exporters across 18 halls and more than 225,000 square metres of display area, spanning 16 product categories. For a furniture buyer, the categories that matter are Furniture, Interiors, Home Décor & Accents, Home Furnishing/Carpets & Rugs, Outdoor & Garden, and Cane, Bamboo, Paper & Eco-Friendly Products. India's export furniture strength sits in solid wood — sheesham, mango, acacia — plus metal and wood combinations, carved and hand-finished pieces, and increasingly industrial and mid-century styling produced for European and North American retail. The handicrafts framing of the fair undersells how much straight furniture is on the floor; EPCH gave the Spring 2026 edition a declared special focus on the furniture category. Admission is strictly trade: registered or invited visitors aged 18 and over. The venue is in Greater Noida, at the far south-eastern edge of the Delhi capital region, roughly an hour from the international airport in normal traffic — a detail that shapes the whole trip, because staying in central Delhi means a long commute each way.
Indian furniture and home manufacturing is geographically scattered — Jodhpur and Jaipur for solid wood and carving, Moradabad for metalware, Panipat for rugs and textiles, Saharanpur for wood craft, Mumbai and Bengaluru for contemporary lines. Visiting those clusters individually is weeks of travel. IHGF is where they all come to one building twice a year, which is why it is usually the right first trip for a buyer testing India as a sourcing market before committing to factory visits. Treat the fair as the shortlisting exercise and the cluster visit as the follow-up.

Reported road distances from DEL to India Expo Centre & Mart vary by route between roughly 45 and 55 km, with typical drive times of about an hour and considerably more in Delhi's peak traffic. No official figure is published by the fair, so this is given as a range from mapping and travel sources rather than as a confirmed number. Noida Metro's Aqua Line serves Greater Noida but ends short of the venue, so a taxi or auto-rickshaw is still needed at the end. Book a car through a ride-hail app or your hotel rather than taking an unmetered street taxi.

Greater Noida is a planned satellite city in Uttar Pradesh at the south-eastern edge of the Delhi National Capital Region. It is not Delhi, and the difference matters: wide empty roads, new construction, and very little of the street life or sightseeing that draws people to Delhi proper. October is one of the best months to be in the region — the monsoon has cleared, daytime temperatures sit in the high 20s to low 30s Celsius, and evenings are pleasant. The trade-off is air quality, which deteriorates sharply across the NCR from late October onwards as crop-burning season and winter inversion set in.
